Riot of Color!

Was it just last week that I was in Minnesota, at ZK2024? Just a mere 6 or 7 days ago that I was goofing off in person with my online friends and enhancing my stash, adding a riot of [additional] color to my life...?

Wow! But that was fun! And, as one does, I have already cast on something new. It, too, is a riot of color, but also a secret test knit. I can show you this much, tho...because that color is all me!

The project is designed for three colors, and the original uses one variegated and two solids...but going through my stash, including a newly acquired skein from Fangirl Fibers from my goody bag, I've decided on three variegated skeins of varying color values...in light, medium and dark varieties!

So far, as you can see above, it's knitting up in a very playful way! I am really enjoying it, but won't be able to show it off fully until the pattern releases early in August (I believe). But, there are certainly other things I can show off today...like a good look at those "day-of-the-week-panties" stitch markers I purchased at a yarn truck...

...and the moment I realized that I currently own a bucket-bag sized pile of mini-skeins that I have been [apparently] collecting for some time...minis are so very Pretty!

Of course there is the entire stash enhancement that came home from MN with me...

...including a mini set to represent Daisy Jones & the Six (wasn't that a great book and show?!?)...

...and the Show Stopper that will likely go with it, in some iteration of a cardigan or pullover (Leading Men never cease to amaze me!)...

Un Besito Fiber
offered a tonal coral that will pair nicely with several of the "single ladies" skeins in my current stash, though there are tough decisions to be made there...

Frog was so tired when we got home that he requested his slippers, and he has not taken them off since he put them on!

No dancing, no stash diving, no anything but lounging in his "day jammies" and slippers. Today is actually a great day for that. It's been a rainy one, which the flowers love. Rainy days are also good for knitting, so you won't hear me complaining either!

As a bonus, we are planning on a visit soon from this riotous crowd soon,

so stay tuned! There will be more fun tales to be told, and new knits are very likely on our horizon in the Pretty house! More frogs, anyone? Or should we move onto something else?

The frogs can be a little judge-y...
With the 4th of July coming up here, in the States, I hope that you have some down time and fun planned with your family. Even if you are not celebrating a national holiday, I hope that your life is full of color and people that you love.

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!
Maybe I'll knit a bumble bee?

Frog's Fab Funtimes!

Frog and I have had a week of fabulous adventures, from trying new foods

My first, fab Korean food!
to playing with yarn,

Our haul from the Yarn Truck Rodeo
because we are attending ZK2024!

Keynote Speaker, Samantha Guerin!
Opening Ceremonies
One of the gals from the Cesium Yarn truck
We packed up on Tuesday, and hopped a plane to Rochester, MN at 6am on Wednesday...

...and it's been nonstop fun since then!

Knitting in the lobby
All the Sam Guerin sweaters!

Frog has enjoyed meeting new people, shopping on the yarn trucks, and coaching me through knitting a new hoodie for...Frog!

716 Knit, Cesium Yarn, Yarn Adventure and Fiber MacGyver trucks!

I didn't wear my PJs to the pajama party,

and I did not do the 5K run/walk in the rain,

but I did get to teach a crochet class and help with Bingo, and I had such fun with everyone!

Today is Yarn Acquisition Day (aka - the Market!), so I'll be shopping when this post goes live. I promise to share my new stash soon!

But first, coffee!
Wherever you are, I hope you're having a fabulous funtime, too! Thanks for stopping by, and both Frog and I hope that you will

I've Got That Feeling

I've got a funny feeling. Not tummy funny, like when you order fast food from toddlers at the playground...

Not dizzy... I mean, there was a lot of spinning last night, when Pop Pop and I took the boys to a Jim Gill concert at one of our local libraries, but I think I'm over that today.

And there were a lot of spin-around

and up-and-down fun things at the playground after the concert...

But I didn't ride those, and we've all had a good night's sleep now...so what is this funny feeling?

My feet hurt a bit from walking around in the wrong shoes yesterday (oh! my achin' feet), so I have a feeling that they would enjoy another pair of stripey socks to slip on...

Especially since I finished the last pair of stripey socks on Wednesday. They have random butterfly stitches on them!

And I have a funny feeling that I'll be knitting more frogs...

...and possibly working a little hand-embroidery to repair a hole in one of my favorite pair of summer capris. (I'm not sure how that will go, so I'll let you know next week.)

Wait! I've got it! I've got that feeling that the annual Woolapalooza trip is coming up! Yes! That's it! Yay for that Woolapalooza feeling!

X marks the spot for Woolapalooza, Baby!

Anyone else in Blogland planning to attend the Great Lakes Fiber Show on Saturday? Message me, or look for me there, if you are. Perhaps we can have some fun together!

Eyes Up Again Tonight!

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? 🎶🎵 Me neither, and living in suburban, northeast Ohio, I doubt I ever will...at least, I don't think I'll hear it from my own back yard.

I also doubted that I would ever see a total eclipse of the sun or the northern lights from my own back yard, but 2024 has been full of wonder! We did get to experience a total eclipse from my daughter's back yard (in a neighboring town) last month...

...and last night, I saw the northern lights from my own deck!

Of course, that photo is not super spectacular...but a friend clued me in to make sure my night settings were enabled when I took photos, and I got these more-spectacular shots!

I think my son and daughter-in-law and their girls had a better look (fewer lights, more wide-open where they live in Kansas), but even they needed to enhance with those night settings.

Still, it is pretty cool that so many in my "neighborhood" had such a good viewing, considering that this is NOT Alaska or Canada and other points north! I'm not sure if the solar flares will interfere with communications (as some in the news industry have claimed they might), but they sure put on a spectacular show! (And they may do the same again tonight, so check it out!)

In other news, I'm still knitting! Sparkly socks finished mean new socks started...

...and I've finished that second cowl I was working up as a test knit!

Bonus! It's two, two, two cowls in one, because it's double knit...because that's who I am.

It's even been gifted, which frees me up to knit socks, clean closets and make more frog clothes...because what frog doesn't need new clothes? I know you stopped by to check on my frog-clothing progress...

Finally, tomorrow is Mother's Day, and I'd like to wish all of the ladies I know a good one. The women who raised us, taught us, encouraged us and loved us well deserve honor tomorrow (and every day), because we wouldn't be who we are without their influence. So hug a mom, if you can find one, and try to make it a good day.

Oh, and Knit in Good Health!

Cowl #1, not on the intended recipient,
but still super cute!
