No Sleep 'Til Sunday (Night)!

So, here I am, in Rochester, MN, running on yarn fumes and coffee...truly part of the Zombie Knitpocolypse experience for me.

I'm not sure if anyone here is able to just go to bed at the end of these days of friends, fun and frantic knitting. I suppose the introverts perhaps do better at the resting part, but I am not sure...I am NOT an introvert, to be sure!

I am a knit-in-the-car,

knit-in-the-lobby,

knit-in-the-ballroom,

knit-in-the-classes-and-showcases,

and-take-all-the pictures and talk-to-all-the-people kinda Zombie, and I am having so much fun!

The only part of this experience that has caused me stress this year is the trying to not miss out on anything! FOMO is a real thing for some of us, at least! Coffee is keeping me going (and I love the new coffee sleeve design by Shanalines Designs!).

We have not yet reached the Closing Ceremonies, so I'm not sure if my 5K efforts will win me another championship shirt this year, but I did come in close-ish to my time again this year, even with the half-mile detour I took with my buddy (BTW, I saw the sign, and I'm not sure why I did not turn...lol!)

And I finished just as strong as last year!

Today is the Market Place, and the yarn fumes will be strong, so I'm eeking out an earlier-than-usual post. Cue Aerosmith...I don't want to miss a thi-ing! After the Market, I'll be teaching a class, which I am super-pumped for!

Then early tomorrow we'll pile it all back into Lauren's car and head east. My own bed is already calling me, but I'm still all in here. I am completely Zombie-fied at this point, but still totally all in!

The New Nomsters are looking forward to seeing the condo when we roll in, and I'm looking forward to a new pair of completed socks from ZK2021 yarn at the other end of the journey. I am also looking forward to seeing what jumps into my hands at the market!

If you are/were at the retreat with me, thanks for stopping by! If you have a minute, and you won't miss out on anything, drop me a comment below, and tell me: What was your favorite part of ZK2022?

Until next week, Knit in Good Health!

June Is Soon!

When you start saying "June is soon!" in early July, everyone knows that you had a super-great time at the Zombie Knitpocolypse 2021! Which I most certainly did, and now June is HERE, and so is that super fun, ZK retreat! I'll be leaving this week for road-trippin'

yarn-buyin'

prize-winning

5K-running (errr, walking for me!)

Pannekoeken-eatin'

friends-laughin'

GOOD TIME!

(Side-bar: I'm sad to report that one thing missing from this trip will be my "Twin," Pat! I'm gonna miss you like crazy, Girlfriend, but I'll try to post some fun so you can join in virtually, along the way.)

Before I go, I have more minis to work on, as Pretty does. There are more mini cuppy-cakes,

mini people,

and mini minis, in the form of shrinky dinks, just for fun!

I'll try to keep you updated, and hopefully there will be a fun post from the road next week. Until then, ZK here I come! I can't wait to see all those fun faces in person again, and to find out what I really NEED to knit next! (Translation: Caution! Enabling ahead!)

I hope you have something super-fun planned for this summer! Drop a comment to let me know what it is, and I'll catch you on the flip side, when it's time to start saying "June is soon!" again!

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!

Lately, It's All Littles

Little kids...

Little adventures in our little neighborhood...

Little [Tiny?] bubbles...lol!

Little knits, little people...same thing?

Little cupcakes...

Wait. What? Can I eat those?
Well, no. They are made of polymer clay.

Bummer...but they're so cute! Look! I added beads and hangers!

Remember when I did polymer clay all the time? Like birds and sheep and seasonal things? So fun!

These photos are from a September
blog post in 2011.

But I haven't even looked at the stuff in the last decade, and I moved it all into the new house last April, so it felt like it was time to see if it was still fun! I only had primary colors, plus black and white (not pictured)...

Can I get cupcake colors with that?
Apparently yes! (Look at that! Even chocolate!)

And even though there are no perfect cupcakes here, that's what generally happens when I bake treats to eat, so it tracks. These were so fun!

I suppose that I will get back to regulation-size knitting and crafting eventually...someday... But for now, I am having BIG fun, on a tiny, tiny scale!

I hope your weekend is good, and that you are finding ways to have Big Fun at your house, too!
Thanks for stopping by, and Knit (and play) in Good Health!

Woolapalooza and More!

Memorial Day weekend has turned into quite the event in our lives. Not only is it the day for Woolapalooza (aka - the Great Lakes Fiber Show), it's also a weekend that our son and his family come in for golf and grandparents! That means we had 5 grandchildren in the same town, at the same time, for a short window of playground climbing,

swinging

(and trying not to look at Gramma!)
,

and snuggles from boys who are just too young to even think about fighting it yet (sigh of contentment here)!

It was also a weekend full of girl-attitude and board games,

long hair rolling down a hill,

and trying to get more than one of them looking at the camera at the same time!

Hey! No attacking the photo-Gramma!

Climbing "mountains" with Pop Pop was part of the plan, too...conquerors are they!

Of course there was yarn,

and starting selfies from Woolapalooza,

and ending selfies from same (with Pretty photobombing her own shot? Lol...),

quickly followed by lunch with margaritas,

after all the yarn fumes had been properly fumed. Like I said, it was quite the weekend! Right Jenny? Riiight...

This weekend is just a bit quieter, but I'll still have some knitting on hand. Somebody has to knit the tiny Triceratopses...

After all, the boys live in town EVERY weekend...and let's be honest...when am I not knitting toys? Oh! That's right! When I'm knitting socks... Socks ahoy!

So, that's where we are. The world is a big and sometimes scary place...so I'll just be over here, in my little corner, with all the brightly-colored yarns and plans to keep knitting joy and loving all of them the best that I can. What will you be doing?

Whatever it is, thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend, and Knit in Good Health!
