Birthdays and Worms

I had a birthday this week, which you may know if you follow me on IG or FB, and it's been a great time! Not only was my actual day full of fun and good wishes at work and home,

but I also got to wear a newly finished sweater,

and I received some pretty cool gifts!

Digital photo frame from the girls (& Allen)
Craft fun from the boys (& Jess)
To top the day off...Jess was super proud that she was able to gather EVERYONE* to sing "Happy Birthday" to this gramma, in person and digitally!

*Almost everyone...she accidentally forgot that Aaron (her hubby) wasn't here, lol! I edited him in, for the...win?

Yeah, there are two less than perfect choices...

Which of these ridiculous edits is your favorite? Bwaaahahahahaha!

On top of a great birthday week, we've also had a pretty great start to the weekend...with bike rides,

roller skates,

and squirmy worms!

Now it's time to switch out the winter/summer storage (hello Spring!) and maybe get in some knitting time, so I'll sign off here.

Thanks for stopping by, and for all the good birthday wishes! Knit in Good Health!

Not Quite Speechless Saturday

Nothing super clever to say today, but lots going on! Cupcake baking...

Remembering last weekend's road trip to see my granddaughter in Annie Jr:

And another granddaughter on the soccer field:

Walks around their neighborhood, and to the playground:

Knitting...

Sewing (because those toys need a place to live)...

More knitting (colors don't have enough contrast for fair-aisle, but I still like it!)...

And even more knitting!

It's been a fun-and-busy week, and there's more to come! Those cupcakes mean it's a birthday weekend,  after all!

How has your week been? I hope good, or at least not bad...in any case, thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you find something here to smile about!

Birthday Boy, Baby #3

Cookies and cake and baby elephants, that's what first birthday parties are made of...at least I hope so. Although his actual day was earlier in the week (yes, there were cake and cupcakes on that day too...Cookie Monster themed, of course)

today is the party to celebrate our youngest grandson's first birthday! So Pop Pop and I have packed up this guy (If you've never knit an elephant, you should, knitting elephants is fun, and fun is good!*)

and a few other things to join the extended family's celebration! I'm sure there will be party pics of today all over social media, but for now, here's a shot of my current knit...a cropped sweater for next winter, with one, half-finished sleeve.

It's a little gloomy outside today, so I'm glad we have a bright and shiny event to attend later, and I hope you also have some fun things to do today. While we wait for the party, I'll be doing laundry and knitting sleeves, as per usual for a rainy Saturday.

*Yeah, that sentence is mostly from a Dr Seuess book, but I'm not sure which one...

I See Someone Had a Birthday

When my daughter (who lives close by) has a birthday, it's time for me to bake! If I find candy eyeballs in the cupboard with the sprinkles, well...what else could I do?

Ooh! I see a birthday on the horizon!

But I couldn't hang out with her and the boys on her birthday, tho. It seems they all have the plague. No, not the plague...not even Covid...but we are staying away for a bit while they all concentrate on banishing the germs. It's a good thing we got to see them last Sunday, before the onset of symptoms.

And the littlest one has discovered real food, which is awesome...as long as I can keep the carrots off my hand-knit sweaters!

At least I could console myself with baking and knitting! Lately I'm working on reversible hats with miles of plain knitting to keep my head clear.

Musselburgh Hat #5!

We have some fun planned today, a musical! Our granddaughter is in it, Beauty and the Beast. I hear from that sweet 11-year-old and her parents that it's very good, and she's having a blast!

So, I'm going to sign out and finish this hat before showtime (maybe?). Then I'll start thinking about plans for Thanksgiving day and beyond! So much fun headed our way in the next few weeks!

Or gab a friend and a latte and go for a walk!

Lately, It's All Littles

Little kids...

Little adventures in our little neighborhood...

Little [Tiny?] bubbles...lol!

Little knits, little people...same thing?

Little cupcakes...

Wait. What? Can I eat those?
Well, no. They are made of polymer clay.

Bummer...but they're so cute! Look! I added beads and hangers!

Remember when I did polymer clay all the time? Like birds and sheep and seasonal things? So fun!

These photos are from a September
blog post in 2011.

But I haven't even looked at the stuff in the last decade, and I moved it all into the new house last April, so it felt like it was time to see if it was still fun! I only had primary colors, plus black and white (not pictured)...

Can I get cupcake colors with that?
Apparently yes! (Look at that! Even chocolate!)

And even though there are no perfect cupcakes here, that's what generally happens when I bake treats to eat, so it tracks. These were so fun!

I suppose that I will get back to regulation-size knitting and crafting eventually...someday... But for now, I am having BIG fun, on a tiny, tiny scale!

I hope your weekend is good, and that you are finding ways to have Big Fun at your house, too!
Thanks for stopping by, and Knit (and play) in Good Health!
