Stuffed!

Well, I did my job on Thanksgiving, and I ate ALL THE THINGS! It was delicious, and I am still stuffed! Make no mistake, this is not a complaint...but I am using it as quite the excuse to just sit around and knit as much as possible this weekend.

It's not like I haven't done anything, though...I mean, I did make the annual turkey scramble for breakfast yesterday...

...and pumpkin muffins after that...

...and ALL the dishes are done, sooo...

Yes. That is my holiday exercise plan...cook more! (At least I'm not sitting while I'm in the kitchen, I suppose! lol!)

How many of you have your holiday decorations up? I haven't even thought about the tree yet, but I have washed 20kitchen, Christmas towels to put out. Mind you, they are not out, but they are clean and ready! Maybe I'll do some decorating this week...I do love to sit in the glow of Christmas decor!

For now, I am going to get back to the knitting! This cardigan is more than just entertainment...because the weather is turning, and I don't have a really cozy cardigan (until it is finished). Fingers crossed that I will make good sleeve progress today and tomorrow. I hope you are also knitting on fun things!

I suppose that's it for today. All is well here, as I hope it is with you, my bloggy friends! Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!

Purple Turkey

Well, my turkey is not really purple, but my county is. I very much agree with the sentiment my 5-year-old granddaughter expresses frequently: "Stupid virus!"

It will be a quiet Thanksgiving for me, and I'll bet for you too. Still, we have so much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! Stay safe and warm, and if you must be out, wear your mask around others...unless you are a turkey!

Birthdays and Other Good Things

Chugga-Chugga Two-Two! was the theme for the little birthday party last week, and it was a hit!

I mean, imagine for just a moment that you are nearing age 2, and one day you wake up from your nap to see your Pop Pop has arrived for a visit! Just when you think it can't get better than that, you hear both of your Grandmas (Gees, with a "hard g") downstairs...and when you rush down to see what is going on, there's Daddy and Pappy putting together a giant train track and engine!

It was a great day to be this Bubbo! (Yeah, Bubbo. Not Bubba, because we are not southern. I don't know why or how it originally fell out of my mouth...but I've been calling him Bubbo for long enough that he knows I mean him, so there it is.) Add a pretty good spread of snacks and sweets,

and a new trampoline to the mix, and the day just doesn't get better!

Yes, we had a good Saturday last week, for sure! We even got to snuggle the littlest brother for a bit. Auntie Telly is clearly better at keeping him awake than I am, but I'm ok with that.

Since then, I've cast on a new sweater for me, a test knit for a friend, and I am loving how snuggly it is!

Great pattern, great textures, great yarn, hours of entertainment...oh, I am enjoying this knit almost as much as this kid loves the wind and being "Uh-High!"

My "bubble" has been pretty good lately, even though all the COVID numbers are up everywhere around me, and the world looks like it is planning to shut down again. Even if it does, think of all the knitting time I'll have to finish my new cardigan...there's always a positive to be found somewhere.

Where is your positive this weekend? Did you make a new discovery? See a great movie or show on TV? Get your internet speed boosted? Whatever it was, please share!

If you haven't found it yet, I hope you do soon. A little positivity can turn the day around like a kiss from a handsome prince...even if the happily ever after has some interruptions.

Big Bubbo's Birthday is Coming!

Happy Saturday friends! Today is a big day for an exasperated big brother...
Three weeks into being a big boy,
he is growing weary of the bee-bee...
Big boy will be "Chugga Chugga Two Two" in a few days, and today we will celebrate him at a small gathering of grandparents. Yesterday, I helped his mommy hang some decorations.

Littlest buddy is not really impressed, but I'll chalk that up to the fact that it will be over 11 months until his birthday!

But our Big Bubbo is pretty happy with the party decor!

I am also excited for cake, food, presents and a little family today. I've even started a little friend, and I hope he and his sweater are finished in time for the party. The cat is not impressed...

...which means this will be an abbreviated blog post. I think I can get the sweater done in time, but not if I keep typing! Sooo, happy Saturday, friends! I hope your weekend is good, and my new friend and I hope that you are staying safe and healthy!

A Week of Decisions

If you are looking for a political post, you may as well keep looking. This is a knitting post.

I have some decisions to make. I spent the last week making decisions about my latest hat tricks. Some of my decisions were very good, and some were just ok.

That green hat on the left? Very good! Great contrast in the two yarns for the fair-aisle knitting, and great color change in full sun, too! I think my little Slytherin is going to love it!

The one on the left? Well, the color-change yarn changes beautifully to pastel purple, blue and pink, which is great (just like on the other hat), but I really should have used a solid or darker yarn with it. Still look at that variegated loveliness...deep down in my knitting soul, I needed to use this yarn for this hat!

Even if it was not my best decision, this is no great tragedy. Both are hats. Both are lovely. Both will keep a head warm. Both will be loved, even though one may be loved more than the other. Who knows? Maybe the more loved hat will be a surprise to us all...only time will tell!

In the end, I have a green hat finished, and a girly, multi-colored hat finished too!

But I still have decisions to make...because my knitting life goes on, even though the results are in. Now it's time to look to my next projects, which will likely be holiday-themed for a winter gift swap I am involved in online...so fun!

But, before I get back to the picking and choosing, here's a fun little moment from my week:

Yep, we got dressed up to play in the leaves, and these boys had a blast! And Mom? Well, she did her best to keep calm and carry the baby out of the way! This grandma can't wait until that tiny one is big enough to play in the leaves with us, too! Until then, I'll just keep knitting through my decisions, as I hope you will. J
