December Dump (Photos, That Is...)

At this time of year, blogging is more difficult! I have a lot to say, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I just want to dump my photos...because Pretty takes a lot of pictures! For instance, when I finish a knitted thing, there are pictures, and when I am pleased with the thing, there are fun pictures!
A knitted wrap, a ruana, designed by Shanalines Designs!
This pattern will be released soon...I love it!

When dinner comes out just right...

...and you have the family hanging out on a great day...

...Pretty takes pictures!

Sometimes my kids (or their spouses...lol!) ask me to take pictures, which is so much fun!

The outtakes are pretty fun, too!

All those GIRLS! How does he do it?
Sometimes they don't ask, but if there are stockings and silliness...

Decking of the halls and Christmas crafting (and finger-wagging, "No singing, Gramma!" What?!?)...

Smiles and snow...

Well, I'm gonna take pictures! Even indoors, my camera phone is always at the ready...especially if you start cracking up at something silly...just ask my daughter-in-law!

So, as you may have guessed, we visited the kids in Michigan after we ate our fill of Thursday turkey. We enjoyed Friday and Saturday leftover turkey at their house, and when we got home, the cookie ornament baking was fully underway!

The tree, our bellies and our hearts are full,

and we are almost ready for Christmas. Just a few more last-minute gifties to take care of, and a few more decorations to go up, and we will be there. This is good, because there are only 21 more wake-ups!

Are you ready for the winter holidays? Are you celebrating now, or have you already celebrated? I'd be glad to hear about your winter holiday traditions, so pop a comment below to let me know about a few of YOUR favorite things!

One of my favorite things is certainly the Knitters' Christmas Party, which will be at my house this year. That's next week, so be ready for another photo dump soon!

Until then, thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!
One more of Jess and her boys. So adorable,
but not nearly as many outtakes! Lol!

Last Saturday

As I look back through the blog, reflecting a bit on the past year, I notice that I usually blog last Saturday (or last week) a LOT! Today is no exception, because there was another party last Saturday! Our big boy turned 3 a few days ago, and the big celebration was so much fun! From cake (c'mon! it's a 20 second video, full of joy! you have 20 seconds!)

to presents (he loved the Spiderman blanket, but scrunched up his little face to ask, "Where his head, Gramma?" I guess I'll be knitting a head and arms to add, just like on the little lovey!)

to monster trucks from faraway cousins

it was a great day! By the way, for his real birthday (just a few days after the party) I had to make a little cake

and some cupcakes.

I just couldn't help myself! You know what else I couldn't keep myself from doing (or asking Sweetie to do for me)

Yep, tree is up! Not decorated, easing into all the everything, but thanks to Sweetie, it is up and poised for decorations! My favorite is looking at the lights with my coffee each morning. To be honest, that's good enough for me most days, but I do have a plan for daylight decorations as well. <wink!>

And I am still knitting (even beyond the requested Spidey head)

This is a test knit for a friend, and it is coming right along. I am enjoying the knitting and the resulting fabric as it all comes together, and I can't wait to wear it!

But first, Thanksgiving is right around the corner here in the US, and I am getting ready!

To be honest, I wasn't sure a turkey would fit into this refrigerator for thawing, but I have photo evidence now that it does, and I am excited to be hosting all of our turkeys here next Thursday!

Not sure what the week holds for all of you, but I am thankful that you stopped by today. I hope your day is a good one, and that you find time to Knit in Good Health!

A Million Mittens!

Well, not a million, exactly...more like 24! Here, take a look...

24 mittens are one of the ways I have begun unlocking Christmas around here.

I mean, don't get me wrong...I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet (19 days for those who may be counting!) but I have started to feel festive, and so has my staircase! Of course, these will not live on my staircase...very soon, I will box them up for my grandsons, and send them to live there for seasons to come! Even though they aren't mine, I do love looking at them...

Another fun thing about this time of year is the cooler weather which gives me lots of opportunities to knit. Since Hallmark Christmas movies have started, and since Sweetie is enjoying a late-season round of golf, today is the perfect day to get my tools together and cast on something fun and new!

I finished a birthday blanket (shhh! don't tell the birthday boy if you see him before next Saturday!)

So today is the day for mittens and hats, just for fun! When I finish those, a test knit wrap is project adjacent...squeee!

So, as you can see, it's clearly time for me to sign off and get stitching! What are your plans for this sunny Saturday? (Is it sunny where you are? If not, I'm sure you could knit something to fill your indoor time!)

Thanks for stopping by! Now, go Knit in Good Health, and I'll see you next week!
