It's a Good Day!

Today is a good day. The sun is shining, spring-like temperatures are on the horizon, and I've already been productive as part of a church project making Peace Crosses for our community. (I'm not in any of the pictures, but I took them all, so that proves that I was there! If you were also there, thank you! It was only an hour, but the work was restorative and fun!)

Also, I've nearly finished the requested red and tan scarf, and now I mostly need to decide on fringe or not. I'm leaning toward not, as I'd probably have to buy more yarn for fringe...but the jury is still out.

The socks are coming along. I've made a pretty significant error on the cuff of sock 2, but since these are purposefully "wonky" socks, I've just done a quick repair (that doesn't hide it at all), and moved on. We'll see if anyone ever gets close enough to my feet to find it. Might be bad news for them, if they choose to point it out...lol!

Got a LOT of pictures from the newly-minted teenager recently, as she just did a class trip and then had a birthday the next day! These girls just keep growing, and  I am excited to hug them in person on an upcoming visit we have scheduled!

And the boys are still keeping us on our toes! So active, and with the sun peeking out more and more, we are outside and moving with them as much as we can! My quiver is full of these joyful, young people, and there are days that I cannot get enough!

There are also days that I just need a nap, which means balance is the name of the game. I am getting over a fairly significant cough, so still taking it a bit easy as that abates. Have any of you parents and grandparents figured out that perfect balance? If you have, please send the formula! I want to do ALL THE THINGS, but there are simply not enough hours in my days...still, today is a good day.

What are you up to today? Is the sun shining, or is this a cozy up with cocoa, a movie and some knitting today? Whatever you are up to, I hope that today is a good day for you, too!

Not in Kansas Anymore...

As promised, a photo dump, which I have time for. Why? Well, because we're not in Kansas anymore. Insert sad face here, but I had a great time with the girls in "Oz," which was technically spelled W-a-m-e-g-o.

Pop Pop wasn't feeling super "Ozzy," and our son was at work, so it was just the girls for this part... We visited the museum,

including a ride in the Wizard's beautiful balloon,

seeing the keepsakes and figures, big and small,

and marveling at the fact that Frank L Baum practically predicted the TikTok trend of today...

then we had a snack at Toto's Tacos

before heading to the yellow brick road!

All along the way, we stopped to see all the commemorative Toto statues we could see on foot.

Note: if you want a photo of a Toto, do not position your head in front of Toto!

It was a hot day, and the dogs were tired, as were my walking shoes and socks!

Later in the visit, the girls and I went school-clothes shopping,

Alleigh got a more grown-up haircut, with curtain bangs (which I now know are a thing, and not nearly as traumatic as regular bangs),

made beaded bracelets,

and even sucked Pop Pop into the craftiverse with some suncatcher painting!

We went on walks, with and without the new puppy,

and I was able to grab photos of the girls to share with their cousins (and you), and

It was a full trip, punctuated by knitting

Christmas socks on the needles...

and quilting,

and stressful travel at both ends.

And now we rest and get ready for a new week, missing them but forever grateful for the time we spent together.

Now, I'm gonna take a nap. I've made myself sleepy again, just remembering all the Kansas fun! Many thanks to our son and his beautiful family for loving us, hosting us, and showing us a great time!

Well, that's Kansas, Part II the photo dump. Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!

Caution! Vacation Photos Ahead!

Apologies in advance, but this is going to be a bit of a photo dump! I suppose that's what happens when there's a LOT happening in life...like somebody's baptism (and ensuing cute, pseudo-shyness with the grandmas)!

Party at Grammy's and Pappy's house after.
Don't forget a quick family vacation, like a long weekend in Traverse City last weekend, with time in the water, time in the sand, sightseeing and adventures with almost everyone in tow for all the things!

Beach at Traverse City, MI.

Even the littles love pictures!

Scenic Overlook, Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Each of these photos represents a moment of family relationships growing, whether it's a grumpy "Boss Baby," or "All Smiles" on Everyone!

Yes, when there are 10 in a house (a great AirBNB on the outskirts of our destination) there's bound to be a grumble or two. But overall, we had a great time, and I can't wait to do this again! It was just so fun to play together for four days, and even to enjoy the "down time" we had between big activities and beach time.
Drawing with Pop Pop!

The house had a pool! Yay!

Bonfire with marshmallows!

Even the littles learn to shoot pool!

Putt-Putt with way too many people...lol!
It was just so much fun! Of course, when there are littles about, even the every day is fun! Trips to the playground are even adorable, don't you agree?

So, there. I think that's all I'll dump on you for now...I'm trying to get some of my faves printed and framed as I type (uploading hundreds of photos takes longer than I'd like), so lookout to my IRL friends...I am a Gramma with pictures, and I'm not afraid to share! Lolz...

What will you be up to this weekend? Any last hurrahs before summer bids us farewell? Whatever you're doing, remember to take a photo or two!

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit (and enjoy your family as much as you can) in Good Health!
