Small Feet in the House, Y'all!

Fergie may not be in the house tonight, but there are some VIPs who have invaded Gramma and Pop Pop's house this December! For the last few days, these shoes have showed up in my kitchen, and I could not be happier about that!

After all, those shoes belong to these girlies, and it has been a year since Peanut and Sweet Pea were in Ohio!

And this year is special, because this is the year they got a new cousin from Aunt Dollface and Uncle Face! Meeting Baby Nugget was super fun...it almost made dear Mindy want another baby...just kidding! But babies sure are sweet, aren't they?

The girls took turns holding their new cousin...
Sometimes little sisters do not go first.
This can make a little sister sad.

And Sweet Pea even got to give him a bottle...multi-tasking at its best!

Uncle Face and Aunt Dollface are such fun! Building forts and coloring and even having presents...these girls wish they could visit every day.

The only thing that would make it better, according to Peanut anyway, is if Nugget were a girl...lol! In fact, she decided that he should have a princess crown. Aunt Dollface said that he would wear a princess crown, if we could find one small enough for his little head...and the knitting brain has already started thinking about how to make that happen!

Sweet Pea likes her cousin just as he is, but she thinks he would probably look good in a princess crown...then she giggles! Yesterday she told her mommy that she wishes Gramma did not have to work so she could sit on the couch and knit all day. Ummm, I love that girl! (She has ulterior motives. She has requested a new Barbie dress, hat and slippers. I have started on the project, lol!)

We will close out 2018 the same way we have closed out the last few years, quietly at home, washing and storing all the Christmas socks and decorations.

Well, maybe there will be a little more noise, and Legos. After all, there are little feet in the house, y'all!

May the end of this year and the beginning of the next bring you health, happiness and all the knitting your heart desires!

Merry Christmas!

The tree is up,  we've been to church,
And I've finished the dinosaur.
We've made the rounds, the sun is up -
Christmas is here with a rawr!

Merry Pretty Christmas to you and yours, from me and mine!

Three More Wake-Ups

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart...
Ummm, wait...no. I am NOT singing that song.
Gah! It's in my head now! Earworm! Somebody stop me!

Last weekend, I saw Santa Claus

And the very next thing, I ate a donut!

This weekend, to save me from diabetes,
I'm just gonna knit with the kitties!

Unless they are hiding, which this one was last night. Head right under that blanket..."You can't see me!"

Nothing to hide from today, really...well, unless you count bad songwriting! Oh, and all the Christmassing that still needs to be done. Black Cat is distressed at the lack of tree here...but I have started by making a space in my tiny living room for the thing:

"Ummm, Pretty? The wind chimes are still up. And those chairs have to go. And really? Are you gonna leave those shoe-boxes right on the floor there? This is not very festive...you only have THREE MORE DAYS!" (She just sits there, looking disappointed in me, all day long. Sigh! Cat guilt...lol!)

Well, Black Cat, I've been busy with all the snuggles this month!

The look on BC's face says, "Whatever..." But this little Nugget changes every day at this stage... If I get to choose between this face and holiday decorating, well...

Love of Baby Boy wins!

Still, the plans are big for today. There are cookies to be iced, trees to be put up, lights to be strung, laundry to be done, beds to be made for the out-of-towners, and so many other fun things! Maybe even some knitting...

I hope your holiday plans are coming right along, that you are not suffering from cat guilt, and that you and your family will have the Merriest of Christmasses this year!

We Got the Party Started!

Last week was the annual Knitters' Christmas Party, and Michelle was our host! As I was trying to figure out the best way to blog all the fun, this song kept coming to mind. I would apologize for sticking it in your brain like that, but read on. I think it is a pretty good fit for the great day we had!

It's Christmas Time, so we gotta have a Knittah's Party!
It's Christmas Time, so we gotta have a Knittah's Party!

The Knitters' Christmas Party was last Saturday;
All my friends were there, and we were ready to play.

Had our needles out, and we all had our yarn;
Even had some wool socks, knitted up really warm!

It's Christmas Time, so we gotta have a Knittah's Party!

Makin' some connections as we plate up the food -

Everybody's eatin', so we're all feelin' good.

Christmas trees of olives and yummy cream cheese,

Chocolate covered popcorn brings us down to our knees!

Alice was the star of this Sweater-day!

Finished up this beauty, "Pretty, what do you say?"
Will you take her picture, pose her lookin' so fly,

The Sweater's really awesome, and you know we don't lie.

Time to open presents, stocking stuffer's handmade,

Maybe some were purchased, with love all the same.

Fun tools for our knitting, and glass ornaments,

Cozies for our soup bowls, gosh these friends are the best!

It's Christmas Time, so we had ourselves a Knittah's Party!

Yes, it was quite the party, as it always is! I think this was our 11th year for this particular set of festivities, and as soon as my tummy settled down (I had more than my fair share of dairy, which I should always avoid, but it was so darn yummy...), I started looking forward to next year's party! But first, Festivus this Thursday!

Gosh! Knitters are fun! If you are not a knitter yet, I hope that you will be someday! How else will you connect with all the other fun knitters?!?

Thanks for stopping in to see what all the fun was about, and Knit in Good Health!

Waaay Behind...

There is a reason I am not a food blogger. Even thoug usually, by this time in December, I have been so busy in the kitchen that I am posting pictures like this:

and this:

as I get ready for the annual Knitters' Christmas Party. This year, I have been busy snuggling the most content little guy I have ever met,

so I am way behind in the Christmas food parade! I have only barely started the candy, and there are almost no cookies baked. But since the 2018 Knitters' Christmas Party is this afternoon, I thought I would do some catching up last night, and...you know what they say about the best laid plans. Well, what do you think happens when the plans are last-minute and off the cuff? Right. Not food blog things, but ugly cookies.

Sometimes two kinds of ugly cookies.

Perhaps I should wear an ugly sweater to the party to match the cookies.

Yeah. Perhaps not.

Anyway, today is the day, and the cookies are tasty (even if they are not as pretty as they could be), so I think I am ready to party! I hope that you have some fun things in the works for your weekend, and that your holiday plans are coming along well. If you are also behind, I feel your pain, and I am doubly thankful that you took a breather to read the blog.

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health! (That's what I'll be doing all afternoon with my knittahs! Wish you were here!)

Snuggle Up, Buttercup!

This has been a week of snuggling. Baby snuggles, because this guy is still so very fresh and new!

Kitty snuggles, because there was a problem in our gas lines that knocked out heat for our whole neighborhood!

Even Santa snuggles...because most of this week has been COLD and snowy! There have been many hand knits worn.

At the height of it, we lost our gas service for about 27 hours. Now that service is restored...and we have heat, hot showers and use of the oven again...I think I will spend the day thinking about Christmas baking and decorating. Maybe I will even put out a decoration or two before the day is done. !

Since I have not yet adorned anything but myself (see Santa necklace above) for the upcoming holidays, and I have barely started the parade of Christmas food and goodies, I am going to cut this short and post early. Perhaps a celebratory trip to the candy store and a craft fair are in order for the day! Oh, and maybe a stop in at Skyline Chili...mmmm, Skyline Chili. A trip to B.A. Sweetie's is not complete without a bumper of Chili on spaghetti!

Oh, and there will be knitting. Today is the 1st of December, and I have come up with more gifts to knit before the 25th! Knit Pam, knit! Oh, yes, I need a little Christmas! Right this very minute! What are your plans for this glorious December day? Whatever they are...

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health!
The cats don't care what I do today...
as long as I sit down eventually!

Welcome to Our World!

So, last Thursday I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the newest addition to our Pretty Knitty family. He was not due to arrive until Thanksgiving Day, so I was confident in working ahead for the blog, and I wrote a post about the anticipation. That post went live about 5 hours after his birth...not enough time to re-write the blog, and not very many pictures yet, so just the anticipation went live last Saturday.

This means that I really need to make up for lost time this week! After all, look what happened last Saturday!

A baby!  A brand-new little life came into our lives, and met his Pop Pop for the first time...

A new little life who makes this cute couple an adorable family...

A new little boy to snuggle and cuddle and kiss and spoil...

A new little man to watch football with the guys on Thanksgiving...

A new little Nugget to nestle into Gramma's hug...

So fresh and so new, but only small for a short time. Pardon me, friends, if the blog is short...I have so much snuggling (and baby knitting) to get to!

Welcome to the world, and the blog, our handsome new little Nugget of love.

I hope that your holiday was as lovely as mine,  and that your holiday shopping is well underway. Shop local today, friends!

Thanks for stopping by, and Knit in Good Health! (After all, Christmas is almost here!)
